- Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 annually
- Bonus: Company Profit Sharing
Purpose & Summary: As an Accounting Supervisor, you'll oversee daily accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and data entry. You'll work closely with the Corporate Accountant to assist with month-end and year-end closing processes and support the year-end audit. In this role, you'll establish and maintain accounting processes aligned with the company's goals, always keeping a continuous improvement mindset. Responsibilities include:
- Supervise Daily Accounting Activities: Oversee and ensure the accuracy, quality, and transparency of daily accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, credit card transactions, and financial reporting. Ensure that all transactions align with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, mentor, and supervise the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Provide guidance, resolve team member issues, and encourage personal and professional growth. Regularly assess team performance and implement development plans as needed.
- Process Improvement & Implementation: Develop, document, and revise accounting processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement. Collaborate with the Controller and other stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist the Corporate Accountant in preparing and executing month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure the timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts, preparation of financial statements, and submission of necessary reports for audit purposes.
- Project Management & Special Initiatives: Lead or participate in special accounting projects as directed by the Controller. These projects may include system upgrades, process optimization initiatives, or cross-functional collaborations aimed at improving the overall accounting function.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports, ensuring their accuracy and alignment with organizational goals. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial data to support decision-making at various levels of the company.
- Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure all accounting activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, reconciling accounts, and addressing audit inquiries.
- Fostering a Positive Culture: Act as a culture champion within the department, upholding Dynamic's core values and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment. Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring high standards of performance and attention to detail across the team.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the accounting department and other internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of financial information. Address inquiries and provide insights into the financial health of the company.
Education & Experience:
- Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an accounting focus.
- Required Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year of prior supervisory experience.
- Preferred Education: Master's degree, CPA, or CMA certification.
- Preferred Experience: 3+ years of supervisory experience in accounting.
Skills & Abilities:
- Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, GAAP laws, and regulations, with a deep understanding of accounting principles and processes.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Enterprise, and advanced in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve problems both independently and in group settings, providing sound recommendations.
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor, and supervise assigned team members, ensuring individual development and team success.
