About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst, to work on an auditing, procurement, and budgeting project. The ideal candidate will possess analytical skills, and have a strong understanding of accounts payable functions, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We're most interested in candidates that have worked in non-profit, or municipal, government agencies.
Responsibilities
- Approve and process expenses, and accounts payable transactions including invoices and other payment requests that need to be sent to the Comptroller
- Review invoices from vendors to ensure their legitimacy for payment
- Perform audits based on knowledge of contract standards to determine if invoices match vendor's budgets
- Ensure that requests for payments have the correct budgeted rates
- Reconcile vendors statements, and resolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors in relation to items such as overspending, and budget revisions
Qualifications
- Previous government, non-profit, or social services experience is required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 1 - 2 years in accounting or related field
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processing
- Strong organizational, and analytical skills
- Previous experience in accounts payable is required, additional experience with procurement and auditing experience is highly desired
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must have the ability to learn new systems in a timely fashion
