QUALIFICATIONS
Accounting Degree or 3yrs. experience in an accounting office; computer skilS
Ability to problem solve
Computer knowledge of Microsoft applications
Other qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Mission and Goals
- Works with the Superintendent and Business Manager to articulate and promote the school system's vision of learning and teaching
- Monitors and evaluates progress toward accomplishment of system goals and objectives
- Develops goals, objectives, programs, and operations that are consistent with school system vision, mission, and goals
- Ensures that unit and program plans are consistent with the system's strategic plan
- Organizes daily, monthly, and yearly schedules to facilitate learning and teaching in the schools
Performance Responsibilities
- Prepares and reviews requisitions for district purchases
- Delivers or faxes purchase requisitions that have been approved
- Reviews and follow up on open purchase orders
- Reconciles purchase order with invoice, and investigates discrepancies
- Enters all purchase order information into the computer, runs edit, and checks for accuracy of input
- Prepares claim dockets for Superintendent, Business Office manager, and School Board Members. Claims docket is prepared after all purchase orders, manual checks, and void check information has been entered into the computer
- Prepares accounts payable information for payment of vendors and presents to the Business Manager for processing
- Assembles and mails all accounts payable checks to individual vendors
- Files all check copies, paid purchase orders, and invoices after completion of the payable procedure
- Updates and maintains all vendor information
- Able to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
- Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- 1099 tax prepa ration
Fixed Assets
- Prepare documents for tagging of appropriate fixed assets
- Enters property information into the district accountability system
- Performs any other task as designated by the Business Manager
Terms of Employment: Twelve month year (235 days). Salary will be established by the Board.
