The Company currently has an opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist in our Accounting department. Position is responsible for processes all accounts payable transactions for the US subsidiary ensuring compliance with all internal controls and accounting policies. Additional responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable
- Enters all purchase ledger and overhead invoices into accounting system using a 3 way match method for entry and validation of invoices. Ensures accurate and timely payment of all invoices.
- Regularly communicates with internal employees and vendors to obtain additional information or clarification when inputting invoices or payment requests.
- Negotiates credits, adjustment and discounts with vendors when required.
- Monitors the Accounts Payable and other relevant internal finance e-mail inboxes and responds on a same day basis.
- Assists in maintaining the fixed asset schedule.
- Assists in maintaining prepayments and accrual schedules.
- Reviews accounts payable aging weekly and presents a weekly payment run for management approval; processes weekly electronic payment run after approval.
- Reconciles goods received and not invoiced (GRNI) on a regular basis each month.
- Performs accounts payable statement reconciliations.
- Provides various accounting reports as requested by internal Management.
- Performs all filing and other administrative tasks as required in support of the accounts payable function.
- May be cross trained in the Accounts Receivable function in order to provide support or backup when needed.
Employee Expenses
- Performs daily entry of all credit card transactions and reconciling credit card statements monthly. Follows up with employee for additional information or request receipts.
- Identifies any expenses outside of Company policy and communicates to the submitter’s department Manager.
- Process reimbursements of cash expenses per Company policy.
Position is onsite, Monday through Friday, at the corporate office in Richardson, TX. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent required. Assocaites degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline preferred.
- Two to three years of high volume accounts payable experience required. Previous experience performing accounts receivable preferred.
- Fundamental knowledge and application of accounting principles, practices and procedures (US GAAP) required.
- Previous accounting software and ERP systems experience required. Previous experience with Access Dimensions preferred.
- Intermediate level MS Excel Word and Outlook e-mail required.
- Strong math aptitude, analytical skills and high attention to details required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
- Strong time management, organization and problem-solving skills required. Ability to work under pressure and with shifting priorities is a must.
- Ability to work independently and productively with minimal supervision.
Candidates must currently have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US; no visa sponsorship provided.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting pay of $48,000 to $54,000 per year depending upon education and experience.
