Accounts Payable Supervisor
Mission/Purpose
The Accounts Payable Supervisor will ensure all aspects of operating expense payments align with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and reporting requirements. Collaborating with colleagues in Finance and ither business leaders, this role demands exceptional communication skills to effectively convey accounts payable and vendor funding matters.
Outcome/Results
Performance of all AP related processes in a timely and efficient manner to ensure accurate financial reporting and recording.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight for employee, system, process, or policy issues, including performance reviews.
- Manage the resolution of invoice/payment discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
- Meet all financial deadlines for month-end, year end closings, supporting audit functions.
- Assist with Unclaimed property and annual 1099 reporting.
- Plan tasks, review work, evaluate performance, and train employees
Key Competencies/Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems, with experience performing accounts payable processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices and payments.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies and payment issues efficiently.
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliations.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal departments.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for AP reporting and data analysis.
Background & Experience
- High School Diploma and associate’s degree preferred in Finance or 3+ years same/similar experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to speak and hear
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
- The employee may be required to walk, bend, turn and lift accordion files weighing up to five pounds.
- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
