About the Job
Vaco is looking to hire an A/R Specialist for a company in the Cordova area. This is a CONTRACT for 6 months but could go longer. The A/R Specialist supports the cash conversion cycle by efficiently and accurately processing cash receipts and contacting customers to reconcile and resolve payment discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently apply cash receipts to maintain and increase customer percent current balances
- Ensure timely payments while maintaining positive customer relations
- Initiate customer inquiries to resolve various claims, credit memos, deductions and short payments
- Accurately and appropriately adjust customer account balances to reconcile and clear various account discrepancies
- Maintain awareness to adverse / declining payment trends with assigned customers.
- Escalate processing errors and/or customer / department concerns to A/R team leader in a timely manner
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support order-to-cash process success
- Monitor the team Inbox and respond timely to internal and external customer inquiries
- Quickly incorporate learning experiences and continuously improve process capability and productivity
- Maintain availability and flexibility around period-end close
Experience:
- Financial background: accounting and/or collections experience preferred
- Accounting related computer software; enterprise / ERP software preferred
- Business communications and relationship building
- Functional level math and data analysis
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Research, problem solving and time management
- High school diploma required; Associate degree in accounting or business preferred
