Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking an **Acoustics and Noise Control Specialist** for immediate employment in **New York, NY; Austin, TX; Boston or Chelmsford, MA; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; or San Diego, CA office.** Appropriate professional behaviors, including pro-active communication, attention to safety, client-focused attitude, integrity, team participation, and active listening are valued, assessed, and expected at AECOM. _This position is expected to begin in Fall 2024._ **The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:** + Primary support on noise analysis tasks for major transportation, construction, energy, and development projects across the U.S. + Perform predictive analyses with spreadsheet-based tools and commercially available software such as FHWA Traffic Noise Model and CadnaA. The primary role of this position will be traffic noise modeling with the potential for expanding into other environmental and building acoustics specializations during their career progression. + Deploy and supervise a variety of sound level measurements in the field; conduct and document attended sound measurements; download and process collected data for report or presentation content inclusion. Sound measurement tasks will frequently require working in an outdoor environment in various climates. Regular travel across the United States should be anticipated. + Research and review regulatory issues regarding local, state, and national codes. + Prepare client deliverables (e.g., letter reports, technical documents, and graphics). + While the position typically adheres to a traditional 40-hour workweek schedule, some night and weekend assignments will be required or expected. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, acoustical science, or environmental policy (or closely related fields). + Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required. + Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. + As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review. **Preferred Qualifications** + Master's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, acoustical science, or environmental policy. + Relevant experience in acoustics and/or noise control. + Familiarity with FHWA Traffic Noise Model (TNM 2.5). + Familiarity with TNM 3.1 or 3.2 + Familiarity with CAD software and tools. + Demonstrated excellent writing (samples of work requested for review) and verbal communication skills. + Familiarity with Excel. + Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment of up to 40 lbs unassisted. + Tolerance for working in outdoor environments in a range of weather conditions. + Ability to maneuver safely across various uneven terrains. + Position requires wearing associated personal protective equipment. + Completed training in FHWA Traffic Noise Modeling through Bowlby & Associates. + Experience with equipment and procedures relating to conducting noise measurements. + Familiarity using ArcGIS software, Google Earth Pro, Revit, and/or BIM360. + Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team on large projects. + Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively in public. **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this position. + This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in **New York, NY; Austin, TX; Boston or Chelmsford, MA; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; or San Diego, CA** office. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
