AVAIL SENIOR LIVING JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: REPORTS TO: DEPARTMENT:

Memory Care Director and Activity Director

Assistant - PART

TIME

Broad Function:

Supervise the community's Memory Care activities on the weekends while meeting or exceeding Avail Senior Living Memory Care standards. Responsible for ensuring activity programming occurs during residents waking hours, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ensure compliance with state, federal and local regulations. Support marketing efforts, which includes developing strong relationships with referral sources and the local Alzheimer's chapter.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Meet or exceed standards of care.

Ensure good communication with family through phone calls, letters, etc.

• Provide direct resident care, as needed.
• Ensure good communication between shifts.
• Work with families when a transfer or move from assisted living is indicated.
• Implement and practice all safety and loss prevention procedures. Monitor adherence to safety rules and regulations and take remedial action when necessary.
• Assess resident's health status and coordinate health issues with Director of Nursing.
• Assist with the Life Enrichment Program calendar.
• Monitor safety within the community.
• Review logbook daily.
• Assist sales/marketing as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for making certain all scheduled activities in Assisted Living are also taking place with support from receptionist and caregivers.

Oualifications:

• Have general knowledge of and ability to facilitate activity programming for Alzheimer's residents.
• Ability to provide staff education.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proven team development.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Must possess sight/hearing/speech senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
