- Compensation: $675 /credit hour
- Worksite Location: South Campus
- Course/Schedule: Face-to-face morning and afternoon (Spring 2025)
Overview / Job Summary:
The adjunct faculty member will provide instruction in the classroom in areas of expertise as assigned. Instruction may include classroom lectures, facilitating group discussions and projects, and/or computer laboratory instruction at various College locations. Teaching assignments will include between 1-8 credit hours of courses in the field.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
- Maintains effective relationships with local professional organizations to promote positive learning experiences for students.
- Files an appropriate course syllabus for each course taught within the course shell of the appropriate Learning Management System.
- Maintains a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulates enthusiasm for those subjects.
- Makes suggestions to the department Dean/Director, concerning the improvement of the curriculum in keeping with the objectives of the college.
- Teaches all classes according to an approved course syllabus, ensuring that assigned classes are held as scheduled. Holds the final exam at the time scheduled unless permission to deviate has been approved by the department Dean/Director.
- Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
This will be a class during the day for our Interior Design program at WSU Tech South campus. An Interior Design adjunct collaborates with students to foster creativity, develop technical skills, and explore contemporary trends in spatial design, enriching their understanding of aesthetics, functionality, and practical application within the field.
Requirements
Education:
- Associate degree in Interior Design required, Bachelor's degree in Interior Design; preferred.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Minimum one year’s current work experience as a designer.
- Proficiency in Chief Architect software; preferred.
- Association credentials preferred (IIDA, ASID, NKBA).
- Teaching experience in adult education preferred.
- Must be available for required course assignments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
