Hi Location - Indianapolis, INJob Description The essential functions of this role are as follows:Provides high level administrative assistance to an agency, department, orfacility.Reviews total department or agency organizational structure and functions andadvises changes topromote efficiency and effectiveness.Administers staff functions in support of program areas.Prepares special reports on alternative methods of achieving new programresponsibilities.Represents agency, institutions, or departments in a variety of situations withother departments,institutions, the general public, and special interest groups.Prepares responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries.Follows-up on plans, programs, policies, and procedures to ensure progress andaccomplishments.The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listingof activities, duties orresponsibilities that are required of the employee. Other duties,responsibilities and activities may change or beassigned at any time.The ideal candidate in this role should minimally havea Bachelor's Degree and 3+ year of experience, oran Associate's Degree and 5+ years of experience, orat least 7+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills,and abilities in a similar role.Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education orexperience.You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:Thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and methodology ofadministrative managementThorough knowledge of department programsSpecialized knowledge of state government administrative structuresAttention to detail and proofreading skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsOrganizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively andmultitaskAbility to coordinate and motivate professional and support personnelAbility to be creative in developing alternatives to meet department needsAbility to communicate complex theories and principles to a broad spectrum, bothverbally and in writingAbility to maintain cooperative work relationshipsYou will provide a high level of administrative assistance to an agency orfacility by maintaining the organizational structure, reporting, policies, andprocedures. You must exercise thorough knowledge to effectively advise onalternative functions and responsibilities that impact the entire agency,institution, or department.
