Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is looking for an experienced Administrative Services Assistant working with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation located in Nashville, TN. This is an on-site position working 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week and the pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.
Administrative Assistant Job Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Under general supervision, will be responsible for professional staff work of routine through average difficulty in relieving an executive of administrative detail and will perform related work as required.
- Routinely perform general assignments and other duties which do not require an executive's personal attention.
- Routinely act as a liaison between the executive's office and the governor's office, departmental staff, and other state departments and agencies, local and federal agencies, and community organizations and groups.
- Attend legislative functions and meetings as required to gain information; routinely handle complaints and requests from members of the legislature and other departments, citizens, and employees as required.
- Attend receptions, luncheons, dinners, and other gatherings in performing personal contact duties.
- Assign, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned clerical and other staff and their work; make recommendations on personnel actions such as employment, promotion, demotion, transfer, retention, and increases for exceptional performance.
- Handle routine correspondence including composition of replies and routes to the appropriate operating division for reply; prepares non-routine correspondence as requested.
- Assemble information for speeches, staff meetings, and other purposes; may take minutes at staff meetings.
- Make travel arrangements, keep expense accounts, and order office supplies as needed.
- Operate standard office machines and equipment as necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements for Administrative Assistant position:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub-professional experience or paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.
