Work Hours: This position will work and be paid for 75 hours in a 2 week pay period
Starting Salary: $17.98 an hour / $31,465.00 annually

Current county employees will follow the county's promotion/demotion policy.
Responsibilities:
- Works independently under the supervision of the Tax Administration Supervisor.
- Assists Tax Administration Management in various duties.
- Address tax and assessment inquiries and concerns verbally and through written correspondence.
- Preparation of departmental mailings.
- Provide copies of records to public and payment receipts and maintains customer billing.
- Collects delinquent taxes, audits cash drawer, and makes deposits with Treasurer daily.
- Assists departmental staff with special projects, reports or assignments as requested.
- Generate notice of proceedings and decision orders for all appeals. Records minutes at appeal hearings and serves as secretary of the Board of Assessment appeals. Schedules, maintains all correspondence for assessment appeals and Court appeals.
- Tracks and reports all building permits in the CAMA system as well as keeping a monthly statistical record of issued and completed permits.
- Process Homestead applications and mailing of approval/denial letters.
- Uploads tax collector reports, deposits money and assist settlement with tax collectors.
- Assist with processing monthly database update, creation of interim tax bills and updating reports for tax collectors and taxing bodies.
- Maintenance of departmental web content.
Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
Serves as backup for:
Per Capita data entry
Audit & data entry of uncollected tax & rollback tax returns into the tax collection software.
Preparation of check requests for accounts payable
Preparation of laser fiche records
Preparation of tax certifications & bankruptcy documents
Preparation and maintenance of electronic file requests and updating website files
Assist with tax foreclosure processes
Other job duties as required.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalency, plus some business/clerical and computer training.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 required. Must obtain knowledge of rea estate taxation and collection practices.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3-6 months working experience with experience and data entry background required.
