Job Title: Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Faculty
Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado (Windsor)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Dean of Faculty
Typical Schedule: Full-time, M-F, School days, and professional development days
Work Calendar: 189 Days; August 1, 2024 - May 30, 2025
Desired Start Date: Position currently open
Salary Range: $38,000.00-$42,000.00 annually
Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the Dean of Faculty in functions of organizational planning, tracking, substitute management and departmental communication. Supporting Professional Development efforts to include research, working independently and thoughtfully on projects for staff meetings and coaching endeavors. Successful candidate should be able to manage multiple tasks, multiple calendars, and start projects confidently and independently.
Essential Functions:
- Support the Dean of Faculty in daily operations and projects
- Coordinate substitute teachers to include scheduling, tracking and recording time, along with recruiting, interviewing, and basic training for new substitute teachers.
- Assist with recruiting and preliminary screening of faculty and instructional staff candidates
- General teacher/staff support as needed
- Maintain the utmost discretion in matters of confidentiality
- Self-motivated and confidently manage projects with little guidance or supervision
- Training support for the Dean of Faculty in the areas of setup, materials, and hospitality
- Support the Dean of Faculty with scheduling and communications, both internal and external
- Occasional discipline support in classrooms and hallways and lunch/recess supervision
- Foster professional relationships with faculty and staff
- Model moral character in line with the school's core virtues and the pursuit of the Good, True, and Beautiful
- Participate in professional development as offered by ACA and Hillsdale College's K12 Office
- Maintain a collegial, professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues as a partner in the community of learners
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Commitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools of Colorado
- Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues
- High level of proficiency in Google Suite including Google Forms, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Sites, and Slides
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with superior organization and computer skills
- Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
- Ability to provide excellent customer service including phone and in-person communication while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Willingness to support the school leadership team as needed
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- After an offer is accepted, a satisfactory background check as required by state law and Colorado Department of Education
- Willingness to perform other duties as requested
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing
- Must be able to supervise outdoor activities
