The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is recruiting for and Administrative Service Director for the Support Services Division. The Director is an integral member of the Department’s executive leadership team and responsible for delivering critical services across multiple lines of business within the division. This position is responsible for managing all sections within the Support Services Division, such as: budget preparation and monitoring, information resource management, procurement, human resources, and finance in addition to the State Recorders’ Office. It is a job for a passionate administrator and dynamic leader who wants to serve Alaska and Alaskans with their skills and knowledge.

This position provides an opportunity to take on a leadership role in a critical department, allowing you to make a significant impact on the financial and administrative operations of the DNR. You'll collaborate with various divisions within the DNR, as well as other state and federal agencies, which can broaden your professional network and enhance your understanding of public administration. Core Responsibilities
The core responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop, manage, and monitor the department's budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and supervise the Support Services Division, providing guidance and direction to administrative and financial staff.
- Oversee financial planning, accounting, procurement, and other administrative functions to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
- Prepare and present financial reports, budget forecasts, and analysis to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal financial regulations and policies.
- Collaborate with other divisions within the department to coordinate budgetary and administrative support.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the division's operations.
- Serve as a key advisor to the department's leadership on budgetary and administrative matters.
This position requires travel to Juneau and the ability to testify before the legislature on financial and programmatic topics. Requires substantial writing, including technical advisory documents, white papers, and publications. Positions in this job class are in the Partially Exempt Service under AS 39.25.120.
