Job Summary:
Shelton Health and Rehabilitation Center iscurrently looking for a community relations professional to be our Marketing / Admissions Coordinator. This is a great position working within the healthcare community. The ideal candidate will establish working relations/referral sources within the community to market Skilled Nursing Facility Services.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the admissions inquiry process.
- Report all inquiries, admissions, and discharges times.
- Participate in Management meetings to provide admissions data.
- Communicate special needs of new admissions to staff to ensure a smooth transition
- Compile and distribute admission papers.
- Ensure all papers are properly filled out and input into the Electronic Health Record.
- Be the point of contact for calls from hospitals, families, etc. while at the facility.
- Build and maintain relationships with hospital accounts.
- Schedule appointments that include a presentation of information, tour of the building and closing the admission.
- Monitor current bed availability and maintain facility services information.
- Marketing outside the facility to various industry partners including hospital discharge planners and other community contacts.
- Create facility materials such as press releases, brochures, and advertisements.
- Social Media and reputation management along with Administrator.
- Help to expedite the admissions process for emergencies.
- Maintain knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Coordinate the use and decoration of Model Rooms for facility tours.
- Maintain relationships with senior organizations, assisted living and senior housing facilities, appropriate special interest groups, churches and other healthcare facilities.

- Ability to interact effectively either as a leader or as a member of a team, work collaboratively with other departments and outside contacts.
- Organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to implement and monitor progress for successful completion; work well under pressure and deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.
- Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
- Strong computer literacy skills.
