About the Job
This position will work with the Admissions and Counseling Unit. This position is responsible for assisting individuals with accessing mental health services and determining eligibility for services. This includes completing initial mental health assessment and coordinating with an LPHA for psychiatric diagnostics. Duties include completing assessments to document mental health, social history, determine level of care and engage individuals in the recovery planning process.
This position requires attention to detail, ability to incorporate trauma informed principals into the job, and have the ability to multi-task and manage priorities. This person functions as a part of the Assessment and referral team and needs to embrace a teamwork concept. Excellent communication skills are necessary.
Other duties for this role may include being able to provide crisis services for consumers in need to determine inpatient or outpatient treatment. May do follow ups with consumers after a crisis has taken place to determine what treatment is best for continuity of care for the person.
This position will be trained in PASRR program. They will be knowledgeable with how to assess eligibility for PASRR Service and will learn how to assist with PL1 & PE Evaluations at catchment area Nursing Facilities.
This is a full-time position, with primary hours of 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.
This position is directly supervised by the MH Program Administrator for Admissions & Crisis Services.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Requires a Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology from an accredited college or
university.
•Must either have a current license as an LPC, LCSW, or Psychologist, or be working towards licensure. •Must be eligible to be certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
•Must have previous mental health work experience with adult mental health consumers.
•Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and be an insurable driver.
