The Prince George’s County Department of Corrections is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill an Adult Life Skills Coordinator, grade Q18/21, in the Inmate Services Division.
About the Position
This is an entry level to full performance level professional position whereby the incumbent performs a full range of educational and vocational programming to incarcerated individuals in an institutional setting. The incumbent utilizes principles and techniques of motivational interviewing while helping program participants focus on skill building, conflict resolution, and reduced recidivism. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher-level correctional treatment coordinator and reviewed through weekly supervision meetings, observations of classroom instruction/program delivery, and completed program documentation. Work is monitored and performed through a continuum of training under close supervision and in coordination with a higher-level Correctional Treatment Coordinator.
