About the Job
The Stroke Nurse Practitioner facilitates the delivery of quality, evidenced-based patient care, while promoting efficiency and effective patient outcomes. The Stroke Nurse Practitioner is expected to impact clinical practice as a clinical expert in the Stroke Service Line. He/she will serve as a role model to the clinical/medical staff and ancillary services. They will work with their respective collaborative physicians to provide quality cost-effective care. He/she has responsibility for clinical practice, research, education, and leadership activities.
Responsibilities include neurological assessment and patient management. Communication within the Stroke Team and other medical staff to implement patient plan of care. Reviews diagnostic tests. Orders/Prescribes within scope of practice. Monitors patient response to treatment and adjusts treatment accordingly. Promotes research and education.
Requirements;
- Masters of Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum experience as APRN of one (1) year.
- Current Licensure in state of Kentucky as an APRN.
- National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Current DEA certificate without restriction.
