INVO is seeking a strong 1:1 Aide to support High school in a Philadelphia Charter High School. Classroom Aide must have a minimum of an Associates degree to provide academic and behavioral support to the student . The aide will work under the supervision of classroom teachers and special education staff to ensure student achieve their learning goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Academic Support: Assist designated student with classroom activities, assignments, and projects, ensuring they understand the material and stay on task.
- Individualized Assistance: Provide targeted 1:1 support to student during lessons to meet their unique learning needs, as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or other learning plans.
- Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive and organized learning environment by reinforcing the teacher's instructions, encouraging appropriate behavior, and assisting with transitions between activities.
- Behavioral Support: Implement behavior management strategies as needed, following any established Behavior Support Plans (BSP) or teacher directions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to develop strategies that support the students academic and social growth.
- Documentation: Assist in tracking student progress by recording daily performance, behavioral observations, and any other relevant data for review by the teaching and support staff.
- Inclusion Support: Encourage and facilitate the participation of students in classroom activities and peer interactions.
- Supervision: Monitor students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch, recess, and field trips, ensuring their safety and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Associates degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working with high school students or students with special needs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Patience and the ability to work with students who may have diverse learning and behavioral challenges.
- Preferred:
- Prior experience in a classroom setting, particularly in special education.
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior management techniques.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday during school hours.
- Additional hours may be required for meetings, professional development, or special events.
