Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for an Aircraft Heavy Maintenance Tech Rep/Supervisor for the following locations:
- Greensboro, NC (GSO)
- Winston-Salem, NC (INT)
- San Antonio, TX (SAT)
- Roswell, NM (ROW)
- San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL)
These are contract positions. Travel rotation to the location you are placed at (i.e., 7 days on/7 days off, 4 days on/4 days off, etc.). There is no need to relocate. Current location will be considered when determining which of the above locations to be placed at.
Position Description:
This job is a member of the Training, Engineering, and Quality Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
Position Purpose:
Responsible for supporting a major airline's outsource Heavy Maintenance Providers (HMPs) and requires extensive travel between all HMP locations. This job is also responsible for overseeing the proper administration of the airline's Quality Control programs including RII, NDT, Major repair reporting, receiving, training and rejection/buy back.
As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team, you will meet the following:
Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience:
- 5 years experience in the maintenance, repair and overhaul operations of Part 121 air carrier maintenance programs
- Ability to travel internationally
Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
- 5 years experience in the oversight of a Part 145 maintenance programs
- 5 years experience in a supervisor role, overseeing the repair of Part 121 air carrier maintenance programs
- Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector
- Aircraft Training, Airbus A319/320/321, Boeing 737/777/787, Embraer E190
Skills, Licenses & Certifications Required:
- FAA Airframe and Power plant licenses
- Knowledgeable of NDT/Bore score procedures
- Knowledgeable of Federal Aviation Regulations including aircraft/power plant inspection techniques and procedures
- Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to privileges to airport security identification display area (SIDA), if applicable
- Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same time
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Self- motivated
- Maintains a professional demeanor in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization

Essential Job Functions:

- Monitors compliance with the airline's approved Maintenance Program and applicable CFRs
- Monitors work in progress for workmanship also for compliance with regulatory requirements and airline's policies, standards and procedures
- Notifies and assists vendors in initiating the appropriate corrective actions as needed
- Supervises the proper administration of the airline's Quality Control programs including RII, NDT, major repair reporting, receiving, training, and rejection/buy back Audits completed tasks to ensure physical work accomplished matches the provided instructions
- Documents and reports any deficiencies to airline's Sr. Site Manager
- Works directly with other onsite support teams; (Tech/QC Reps, Engineering, Materials) and vendor personnel to ensure all maintenance program requirements are being met and build strong dependable relationships with other supporting departments both internally and at all of the facilities
- Maintains familiarity with airline's contractual arrangement with contract vendor and applicable Airworthiness Agreements.
- Ensures all required reports are generated and distributed to applicable departments in a timely manner.
- Make inputs into the airline's maintenance systems as required.
- Attends vendor production and quality meetings
- Participate on Functional Checks Flights as required.
- Requires extensive travel between all HMP locations
