Global Logistics Support Services, (GLSS), an S 3 Inc. company has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Mechanic III (Airframe) to support on-going efforts in NAS Jacksonville, FL
Military experience is a plus!
Description:
Performs aircraft maintenance inspections, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance actions of moderate difficulty to restore aircraft and aircraft systems/components to fully operational status. As required, leads and supervises a team of aircraft maintenance personnel in the prioritization and completion of schedule/unscheduled maintenance actions on time and to standard. Applies experience to provide technical direction and education to subordinate personnel. Provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assists in the recommendation of changes to (MWO).
Responsibilities:
- Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of high difficulty.
- Maintains and repairs aircraft components, including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restoring to fully mission capable condition.
- Applies technical expertise to solve complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
- Uses comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, power plants, sub-systems, and components, performs troubleshooting to determine the functionality of systems and components.
- Performs required repairs and/ or replacement using aircraft unique tools and test equipment (torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Current, Active Secret Clearance.
- High School Diploma.
- Must have 5 or more years of experience providing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft.
- 7 years or more years specialized C-130, E-2 or P-3 fixed wing aircraft maintenance.
- Must have a combination of three years or more experience repairing airframes and structural components and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions.
