Animal Technician - The Fountain Group

The Fountain Group is currently seeking an ­­­­­­­­Animal Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in ­­Lexington, MA. Details for the position are as follows:

Shift Details:

• Schedule: 40 hours per week, but will need to be available some weekends.
• Weekend hours are sporadic but could be several in a row as needed.
• Weekend support would include both Saturday and Sunday for 5-6 hours total for the weekend.
• Would take time off during the week when working weekends.
• No OT approved for this role.
• Location: Onsite only - Lexington, MA

Job Description:

• Responsible for performing high level of animal handing, dosing, sample collections and data recordings.
• Contribute technical assistance to research projects in the NNRC rodent facility.
• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Hands on experience in rodent animal handling and in-life measurements.
  • Hands on experience with bleeding and sample collection
  • Dosing animals with different route of administration including PO, IP, and SC.
  • Performs and records daily food and health checks on various pharmacology studies
  • Experience in animal anesthesia and euthanasia
  • Performs post-procedural and post-surgical monitoring
  • Performs sample and data collection
  • Performs necropsy and tissue collection
  • Receives and maintains adequate stock of animal care and research supplies
  • Technical assistance with injections administration

Qualifications:

• BS degree preferred (no degree required)
• 3+ years of hands-on laboratory experience
• Hands-on experience in rodent animal handling and in-life measurements.
• Hands-on experience with bleeding and sample collection.
• Dosing animals with different routes of administration including PO, IP, and SC. (injections)

Compensation: Up to $23.97 per hour
