The Opportunity
Our client, a government agency in Florida, is in search of an Application Architect to play a key role in their Office of Information Technology Services to support the development and maintenance of financial business systems, ensuring integration with the new state financial system. The architect will lead application developers and database engineers, ensuring compliance with department standards and security practices.

Job duties include:
- Lead and mentor teams of application developers and database engineers.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design the overall system architecture, ensuring component integration and scalability.
- Develop and implement software applications using .NET framework and C#.
- Utilize ASP.NET for web application development (MVC, Web API, Blazor).
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and develop batch processes for integrations with Florida PALM.
- Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Oversee code reviews, system integration testing, and performance optimization.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and manage deployment activities.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure the system is scalable, secure, and meets performance standards.
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time position with pay commensurate with experience up to $156,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Qualifications you need
A successful Cloud Architect has the following experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in .NET/.NET Core development.
- A minimum of five (5) years of SQL (DDL, DML, T-SQL) experience, including advanced stored procedures.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading and mentoring development teams.
- A minimum of three (3) years of application architecture design and technical diagramming.
- Experience with Azure Cloud, data mapping, and complex data integration.
- Expertise in API development and batch processes.
- Advanced knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub repositories.
- Strong customer support skills and meticulous attention to work quality.
- Understanding of financial business systems and standard accounting practices is preferred.
- Preferred but not required, experience with state government agencies.
- Preferred but not required, Microsoft certifications related to application architecture or .NET development.
