Executive Summary: HRUCKUS is seeking a mid-level Application Engineer to support the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Application Engineer will be responsible for performing the following tasks and services:

• SMTP:

o Managing high-volume (more than 1M messages per day) SMTP relays

o Subject matter expert functions for the Proofpoint mail security system

o Diagnosing mail delivery issues through several layers of security using only logs

o Mail routing using an LDAP directory

• Proxies:

o Subject matter expert-level knowledge with the Bluecoat Proxy SG and SSL inspection systems

o Extensive experience diagnosing user connectivity issues using logs

o Work with partner entities to provide an in-depth investigation

o Work with partner entities to modify policy on systems

• DNS:

o Manage the Infoblox DNS system as well as general BIND/DNS functionality

• Monitoring:

o Utilize the Xymon monitoring system

o Configure Xymon and create new monitoring modules

o Use Xymon to investigate problems

o Provide reports as needed for management

o Use Dynatrace and SNMP-based monitoring

• Logging:

o Maintain archival logging for network systems

• Zero Trust:

o Support Zscaler Zero Trust solution for TIC 3.0 deployment

• Tools:

o Support Bluecoat IPAM

• Networking and Systems:

o Support network technologies and Unix/Linux operating systems

Required Skills:

• Active DoD-Issued Top Secret Security Clearance

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

• 5+ years of professional experience in application (email) engineering and maintenance

• Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)

Preferred Skills:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferred

• 5+ years of extensive experience diagnosing user connectivity issues using logs

• 5+ years of experience diagnosing mail delivery issues through several layers of security using only logs
