Application Support Specialist at TEKsystems

Description:

**** We are first searching for a candidate that has Genetec "Mission Control Security Systems" experience.

Provides support for application software, operating systems and associated integration tools for the 24x7 operation of specialized computer systems in a leading electric transmission company.

• Monitors system stability and performance

• Performs application installations and integrations

• Performs periodic maintenance, debugs and provides fixes for enterprise application & integration related software

• Performs periodic maintenance, debugs and provides fixes for user and client systems software

• Provides support for all application changes and post processing

• Performs the management, configuration and testing of software in compliance with regulatory requirements

• Implements software changes and patches, working with software vendors and contractors, as required

• Supports malware, anti-virus and other security facilities

• Participate in the team rotation of 24x7 support to troubleshoot and resolve critical software issues by working with customers, contractors and system vendors as required.

• Provide hands-on end user application support

• Coordinate with Network, Cyber and Infrastructure teams in troubleshooting activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems with a minimum of three (3) years of professional application administration experience, including experience in targeted high availability environments, as identified in job posting supplement, or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.

• Must possess sound analytical problem-solving abilities and documentation skills.

• Functional knowledge of application/system administration facilities, as identified in job posting supplement.

• Functional knowledge of computer operating systems used in targeted environment, as identified in job posting supplement.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrate a Project Management discipline in planning and execution of projects

• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision

Applications: Genetec Synergis (access control) and Omnicast (video management)

Databases: MS SQL Database with some hands-on SQL Query experience
