Position Title(s): Applications (Estimating) Engineer Levels 1-3, Senior
Position Description: The Applications Engineers of all levels will work within the process engineering department and configure manufacturing system proposals and support the Axis team through the deployment of awarded solutions. Engineer must have experience in manufacturing/industrial automation or related field. Requires knowledge of project budgeting, custom automated equipment, along with manufacturing processes & equipment, systems engineering (controls/mechanical/industrial/weld).
Position Opportunities:
- Applications Engineer Level 1: Entry-level position, minimal experience. Some formal quoting or project management - budgeting experience.
- Applications Engineer Level 2: Typically, 2-3 years of relevant experience within applications, budgeting, project management or similar field. Requires minimal oversight on daily issues.
- Applications Engineer Level 3: Typically, >3 years' experience in applications and quoting with ability to manage multiple priorities. Builds customer relationships and can support less experienced team members.
- Senior Applications Engineer: Substantial experience in quoting and customer management. Key influence of team growth, and proposal approvals process. Supports continuous improvement and expanding customer relationships.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors' Degree in Engineering-related field – Or comparable field experience in similar role with exposure to industrial automation systems
- Experience with project management, budgeting, quoting or similar responsibilities within relevant industry.
- Comfortable with speaking technically in front of groups (co-workers & customers)
- Competent with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel/Word)
- Familiarity with automated processes and equipment (Assembly, Welding, Adhesive, Machining, etc.)
- Familiarity with CAD/3D modeling, or viewing software
Compensation: $70,000-$120,000/yr
