RESPONSIBILITIES – Job Summary |
The Architectural Designer is a critical component to the project team. Collaboration with other team members including Sales, Project Management, Product Development & Procurement, as well as clients and their representatives, is essential to a construction project and the company's overall success. An effective ability to communicate verbally, graphically, and in written form is a must. As a member of the project team, the Designer will be expected to develop a construction project from the sales phase through completion. The Designer will be responsible for working in a fast-paced environment to develop support documentation including sketches and exhibits for sales, product development, and project efforts, as well as standard project milestones. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail is a must. Veritas is proud to provide our team members with exciting, unique, and challenging projects. ACTIVITY – Designing | Time Allocation: ~ 70% |
- Use a collaborative approach to develop an appropriate coordinated design solution with the client / client's representative from sale through construction.
- Prepare sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, working drawings, and developing details in conjunction with an understanding and interaction with a wide variety of existing project documentation.
- Prepare detailed drawings for technical accuracy and produce drawings to graphically convey design intent throughout the documentation processes.
- Utilizing company design standards to develop project milestones that capture and accurately represent project scope through the process.
- Working within a team, under direct supervision, to learn and understand the collaboration of Design Documentation within our company.
- Preparation of Design Documentation will require internal coordination with a Salesperson, Physicist, Project Manager, and Structural Consultant to develop project information. External coordination with the client, General Contractor, Architect, MEP Engineers, consultants, or others may also be required.
- Coordinate Field Documentation when required.
- Coordinate designs with all applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer data.
- Complete projects under established deadlines.
- Operate independently and efficiently to manage a wide variety of projects to completion.
- Ability to learn new design strategies and techniques.
ACTIVITY – Project Planning | Time Allocation: ~ 20% |
- Interact with a wide variety of clients via written and verbal communications.
- Proactively identify and facilitate the resolution of potential timeline, task, budget and resource issues.
- Ensure prioritization and timeline alignment between Company and external customers.
- Commitment to accomplishing overall Customer Satisfaction with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and project expectations.
- Coordinate with architects, inspectors, project managers, and client/owner representatives to isolate project issues and assist in developing solutions.
ACTIVITY – Team Veritas | Time Allocation: ~ 10% |
- Attend and participate in scheduled meetings.
- Support cross functional team initiatives.
- Foster company standards for quality assurance.
- Serve as brand ambassador of Veritas. Develop excellent relationships with key contacts in order to develop deeper insights on how we can better support our strategic customers and grow as a dynamic team.
- Participate in Veritas CARES events when possible.

Required Skills |
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial, industrial, design/build engineering or architecture; Proficient using AutoCAD and Revit Software.
- Strong ability to visualize concepts and develop solutions in 3 dimensions.
- Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines.
- Strong understanding of construction management processes, means and methods, building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
- A solid understanding of modeling techniques and familiarity with structural engineering terminology; mechanical and electrical aptitude is a plus.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel; NetSuite a plus.
- Strong leadership skills, positive attitude and a servant leadership mindset.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; Competent in conflict and crisis management; Ability to operate independently; Able to plan and see the "big picture".
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail oriented; Excellent time management skills.
