Planet Interactive is looking for a Art Director (Digital + Editorial) to join our well known Fortune 500 client on a 6-month contract. This role will be 40 hours per week and will be expected to be onsite 3 days per week in their New York City office. This role could also be based out of LA.
Art Director (Digital + Editorial) Responsibilities:
- Create deliverables for digital editorial stories, data visualization, presentations, and more.
- Manage assigned projects to the deadlines set forth and bring forth ideas and creative thinking.
- Develop and execute on assets against an editorial design strategy.
- Design content that is engaging and successful across platforms and audiences.
- Bring to the table a strong understanding of user experience sensibilities and how people interact with digital editorial work.
- Collaborate with creatives, project managers and business stakeholders to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
- Bring new available tools, technologies and resources as ideas to the team.
- Develop prototypes for a variety of platforms and use cases; can rapidly prototype their ideas across a myriad of devices, experiences and scenarios.
Art Director (Digital + Editorial) Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience creating and leading the output of editorial design products (e.g., Magazines, Digital Content, Journalism, etc.)
- Passion for a wide variety of editorial, branding, digital and magazine design.
- Highly experienced in Adobe Creative Suite and iWork suites.
- Fluency across graphic design, typography, photography and illustration.
- Portfolio demonstrating proficiency in delivering strategic ideas across digital, social or static form factors.
- Experience in publishing, magazines, or content creation/delivery is highly sought after.
- Conceptual thinker who is strategically-centered.
- Demonstrates command of visual and communication design principles.
- Delivers highly-resolved works at the intersection of culture and design.
- Clear and concise communication, organization skills and ability to work across time zones.
- Ability to prototype visual design work in situation.
- Strong photographic sensibility; sourcing, art-buying, editing, re-touching or capturing
- Fluency in any of the above: motion, animation, sound design, mixing or editing.
- A keen ability to create work under minimal supervision, as well as package and present solutions to the wider creative team, quickly and beautifully.
