Advanced Disaster Recovery, Inc., is a leading restoration contractor in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area with more than 35 years of experience in disaster restoration, is looking for motivated, service-centric full-time employees to help grow its team of professionals in the region. We provide restoration services - such as emergency response, emergency pre-planning, construction services, catastrophe response, contents restoration, environmental services, mold remediation, fire and smoke damage, and water damage services - to commercial, insurance and residential clients. We provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
About the Asbestos Supervisor Position:
The Asbestos Supervisor oversees a team of field technicians in the removal of asbestos containing material. Interacts with property owners and customers whose property has been affected by asbestos.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for running asbestos projects by overseeing all technicians' work activities; ensures completion of projects are done efficiently observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment and following all hazardous waste handling guidelines.
- Ensures State and Federal asbestos regulations are followed.
- Trains and mentors employees as required on job techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use to removes asbestos or lead from surfaces, using hand or power tools such as scrapers, vacuums, or high-pressure sprayers. Enforces importance of a well-trained employee to the success of the company/team morale.
- Supervises technicians to build containment areas prior to beginning abatement or decontamination work including assembly of temporary equipment or structures.
- Frequent checks inside containment to maintain quality of work and ensures production is on time.
- Conducts a fit test the first day of the week and on the first day of a new job for all employees who are required to wear respirators.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, instructions, and other documentation or plan work activities.
- Drive company vehicles to/from job sites. Daily inventory of company vehicles during load and offload; maintain cleanliness of vehicles.
- Ensures job sites are left clean of debris and trash, ready for the next subcontractors or reoccupation of homeowner.
- Accountable for accurate and complete records.
- Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience required.
- Must possess appropriate licenses and certifications
- Valid Driver's License
- At least one year experience in Asbestos field
- Required to take a current physical and respiratory fit test.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English; Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and handle sensitive/confidential information and maintain the highest degree of ethical business standards and conduct including in all business and customer-related matters.
- Willingness and ability to work a non-standard work schedule and occasional overtime.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing.
