Job Description
You will gather blueprints, routing sheets, setting specifications, and all related fixtures and tools necessary to assemble the products when directed. You will move parts to the assembly area from storage racks, fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners, and use blueprints, routing sheets, settings specifications, required hand tools and fixtures, and test benches to assist in the assembly operation. Additionally, you will assemble parts into repair kits and switches, then package and move the products to the shipping department for further processing. You will also inspect products prior to packaging and return rejected products to production departments, observe packaging operations, and inspect containers to verify conformance to specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Gather blueprints, routing sheets, setting specifications, and all related fixtures and tools necessary for assembly.
+ Move parts to the assembly area from storage racks.
+ Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners.
+ Use blueprints, routing sheets, settings specifications, required hand tools, fixtures, and test benches for assembly operations.
+ Assemble parts into repair kits and switches, then package and move products to the shipping department.
+ Inspect products prior to packaging and return rejected products to production departments.
+ Observe packaging operations and inspect containers to verify conformance to specifications.
+ Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
+ Tally the number of products packaged or record information such as the type of products packaged.
+ Operate pallet jack to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
+ Pack parts properly to prevent damage during transportation to the next operation.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanical assembly experience.
+ Proficiency with hand tools.
+ Experience in a production environment.
+ High school diploma or GED; or nine to eighteen months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Ability to read, write and understand work instructions.
+ Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering prints and drawings, and procedure manuals.
+ Effective communication skills with shipping clerks and other assembly and shop personnel.
+ Mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
+ Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
+ Ability to read blueprints, routing sheets, and test specifications.
+ Consistently maintain production rates and a high level of quality.
+ Ability to work with limited supervision and in a team environment, and be self-motivated.
+ Basic understanding of ISO 9001.
