The Assistant Controller will lead accounting and financial reporting, overseeing all financial records (A/R, A/P, payroll), month-end close, reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and audit/tax preparation. Working within a small finance team, this role requires both independent initiative and collaboration, including guiding and reviewing other staff members’ work. Responsibilities include optimizing and developing procedures, implementing new technology, and supporting the company’s rapid growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will closely collaborate with senior leaders across departments. A hands-on, strategic approach to accounting is essential.

Job Details
The Assistant Controller will lead accounting and financial reporting, overseeing all financial records (A/R, A/P, payroll), month-end close, reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and audit/tax preparation. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or similar
- 5+ years in accounting, including 2+ years under CPA supervision
- Experience managing bookkeepers and junior accounting staff
- Advanced ERP and accounting software skills (QuickBooks Enterprise or NetSuite)
- Proficient in Excel, with cash flow and management modeling experience
- Strong background in auditing and financial reporting (variance analysis, reporting for management and tax)
- Excellent communication skills and continuous improvement mindset
- Startup experience and/or experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, real estate, infrastructure, construction, or energy
