I am actively partnered with an employee driven company, headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida on an Assistant Controller search due to company growth.
This position is a newly created role working within a well established, dynamic accounting department of 8 team members.

responsibilities:
General Ledger Responsibilities:
- Assist in documenting processes and formulating internal controls
- Financial statements preparation for Controller review
- Monitor and review general ledger accounts monthly reconciliations for accuracy and recommend adjustments when needed
- Review journal entries prepared by junior staff, give feed-back and approve in accounting system
- Coordinate and assist year end audit and reviewing schedules prepared by staff as assigned for financial audit
Tax Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure annual report filing for multiple states and multiple entities
- Prepare sales and use tax filings for multiple entities (17) in multiple states, including, most southeast US states
- Research and analyze related state tax laws including nexus rules and business registration and reporting requirements
- Prepare monthly reporting for government contracts
qualifications:
- Strong understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Must be able to analyze results of reconciliations and offer adjustments whennecessary.
- Must have a strong, advanced proficiency working within Excel and Microsoft Office products.
- Microsoft Dynamix AX systems experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 5 years related accounting experience required.
