The incumbent leads the Office of Fair Lending and Equal Opportunity, which provides expertise and coordination to set the Bureau's strategy on fair lending issues-including efforts to rein in emerging activities by entities that prevent fair, equitable, and non-discriminatory access to credit.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Director, Fair Lending, you will:
- Provide legal advice to the CFPB Director on consumer issues related to federal fair lending laws and regulations; and ensures the oversight and enforcement of Federal fair lending laws as they interface and relate with programs and policies throughout CFPB, other Federal agencies, and the financial industry.
- Coordinate, plan, implement, and manage short- and long-term objectives and strategies related to fair lending and fair lending compliance, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), in conjunction with other senior executives and managers.
- Provide legal input, expert advice, and helps coordinate the Bureau's fair lending work across the agency, including research, regulatory, supervisory and enforcement activities.Travel Required
