Position Overview
The Office of Admissions, at the University of North Texas, is seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Visitor Experience to assist is all strategic and operational activities relative to the customer experience in the Welcome Center. Under the direction of the Director, Visitor Experience, the Assistant Director will manage all aspects of the Eagle Ambassador (tour guide) program and personnel, to include hiring and supervision. Work involves, but is not limited to providing vision, leadership, and training with emphasis on customer service excellence, professionalism, and UNT pride.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and four years' of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous Admissions Office experience.
- Thorough knowledge of recruitment and admissions practices within a higher education setting.
- Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
- Ability to develop recruitment programs, create effective materials, and effectively plan and coordinate group events.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support prospective students, community, constituents, staff, faculty, and other parties connected to this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field of higher education, student services, counseling, or related field.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
- Student supervisory experience.

Job Duties:
- Assists Director of Visitor Experience in all strategic and operational activities relative to the visitor experience in the Welcome Center.
- Monitor Welcome Center to ensure warm, welcoming, clean environment, and ensure opening and closing procedures are properly managed.
- Strategically manage all aspects of the Eagle Ambassador program and personnel, providing vision, leadership and training with emphasis and customer service excellence, professionalism and UNT pride.
- Manage hiring, training, retention, schedules, and time keeping/approvals for Eagle Ambassadors.
- Strategically plan UNT tour schedules and review Welcome Center programming and materials to maximize effectiveness in successfully reach university recruitment goals.
- Create presentations that will motivate and train Eagle Ambassadors.
- Coordinate campus tour schedules, including VIP requests.
- Receive all escalated customer situations from Eagle Ambassadors when a customer asks to speak with a manager and ensure that all issues raised by customers are properly managed and documented.
- Collaborate with members of the university community to adequately, accurately, and positively achieve Division of Enrollment and UNT goals.
- Evaluate tour data and provide reporting to Director on progress toward Visitor Experience goals.

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; occasional overtime and weekends
