Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
An established and highly reputable nursing home in the Bonx, NY is currently seeking a talented clinician to join our team as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). We offer great benefits and salary is negotiable, based on experience.
Summary of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON): Assist the Director of Nursing Services on weekends in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):
- Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department
- Ensure that reference material (i.e., PDR'S, Federal and State Regulations, etc.) maintained at the nurses' stations is current
- · Recommend to the Director written material that will assist the nursing service department in meeting the day-to-day needs of residents
- · In the absence of the Director, serve on, participate in, and attend various committees of the facility (i.e., Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Budget, Quality Assurance & Assessment, etc.)
- · Assist the Director in preparing written and/or oral reports of the nursing service programs and activities to submit to such committee(s)
- · Respond to need for staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff.
- · Track infection control, exposure control, and resident care trends to provide proactive improvement. Identify areas of concern and offer recommendations and suggestions to the Director of Nursing.
- · Inform Central Supply of any supplies that are needed.
- · Other special projects and duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):
· Long Term Care experience is highly preferred.
· Must possess and maintain a current New York license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
· Experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
· Must be able to move, lift, and position patients.
