A renowned acute care healthcare facility in northern New Jersey is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support its acute care team.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 5-6 months +
- Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, Night Shift, 11pm-7am
- Patient Population: Adults (including some Pediatrics and Adolescents)
Responsibilities:
The ADN Supervisor will:
- Develop and implement division goals; evaluate progress regularly.
- Participate in hiring, supervising, and disciplining staff; provide input on performance appraisals and promotions.
- Manage staffing plans and work schedules to ensure appropriate levels and staffing mix; communicate staffing needs to Clinical Directors.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and recommend improvements in staff competence and patient care.
- Facilitate effective communication and provide necessary information to unit staff for optimal patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying patient care issues and implementing corrective measures.
- Investigate and communicate occurrences within the unit.
- Act as a liaison between unit, Clinical Directors, and other departments to resolve issues and maintain patient care quality.
- Maintain departmental reports and records; collect data for regulatory purposes.
- Assist in developing departmental budgets and improving operational efficiency.
- Serve as a resource for clinical and management information.
- Assist in developing fiscal, materials, and human resource management strategies.
- Contribute to cost accounting models for nursing care costs and medical center planning.
- Attend monthly nursing office meetings.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing (Registered Nurse).

Experience:
- Clinical nursing skills and expertise.
- Management experience.
- Experience in Medical/Surgical or Critical Care nursing.

Licenses & Certifications:
- IV Therapy certification.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
