Brief Description of Duties:
SUNY Morrisville is seeking an Assistant Director of Residence Life and Residential Education. The Assistant Director of Residence Life is responsible utilizing StarRez for occupancy management, including housing assignments, room selection processes, and access and key control, as well as serving in a leadership role in the Department through supervision of professional staff and program development. The Assistant Director will also have responsibility for administrative processes that enhance the residential experience including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and on-call support and crisis management.
The Office of Residence Life supports the mission of the College by providing a living and learning environment that is conducive to academic achievement and optimal personal growth. We seek to develop a sense of belonging and respect within our residential community by helping our diverse student body acquire knowledge and skills related to the Strategic Initiatives of Student Affairs.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Manage occupancy in the residence halls, including training of staff to utilize StarRez.
+ Develop systems and procedures in collaboration with campus colleagues for room assignments, housing selection, move-in, move-out, etc.
+ Assist the department in areas of Diversity Initiatives, Judicial Affairs, Student Success/Retention, and Restorative Justice.
+ Oversee RA and AC recruitment, selection, and training.
+ Work with University Police and other partners to assure the safety of students on campus.
+ Participation in a rotating duty schedule and other work-related commitments during nights and weekends.
+ Develop community building initiatives with and promote inclusion within the residence halls and campus community via programs and engagement in the residential facilities.
+ Serve on departmental and campus wide committees.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 2+ years of experience working with Housing Software (i.e. Star Rez, etc)
+ 2 years of experience working in Residence Life
+ Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications
+ Masters Degree
+ 4+ years of experience working with StarRez
+ Knowledge and/or experience in Residential Curriculum or Restorative Justice
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including teams, publisher, etc.
