• Job Summary
  • The hearing and speech assistant ensures the audiologists and speech-language pathologists are practicing at the top of their scope by providing essential, often non-billable services for patients. Some of these duties include education, consultation for technology, liaison between departments; provides assistance in patient care for patients who are young and difficult to evaluate and treat;; assists the audiology assistant in maintaining the hearing aid and cochlear implant dispensary (billing, invoices, PO, supplies, sales, loaner equipment and databases.
• Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication science disorders or related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience
  • One year of job related experience preferred.
• Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
  • Registered as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant or Audiology Assistant through the Alabama Boarded of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA).
