Full Time 40 Hours - No Weekends
The Assistant Manager is an active participant in the health care team who provides clinical support to the service team and administrative support to the Nurse Manager. The Assistant manager works collaboratively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and contributes to each patient’s milieu plan and Treatment Plan.
As an Assistant Manager you will:
- Work in collaboration with Nursing Leadership to organize orientation process and complete orientation competencies with new Mental Health Counselors
- Provide staff training evaluation of competencies of the Mental Health Counselors
- Provide feedback to Nursing Leadership regarding educational needs of staff
- Act a role model for unit staff
- Ensure that schedules are appropriate according to patient acuity and unit census
- Responsible for completing unit reports, audits, restraint paperwork, debriefing forms
- Work with Nurse Director to develop program principle’s, policies, and unit structure
- Provide real time education to staff regarding tasks, safety, de-escalation, trauma informed care, etc.
- Work in collaboration with the Nurse Leadership and interdisciplinary team to manage patient restraint episodes.
- Work in collaboration with the Nursing Leadership, Interdisciplinary Team, and Unit staff to maintain a therapeutic environment.
- Act to resolve complaints and concerns in real-time
- Work in collaboration with the Nurse Director and Interdisciplinary Team with Acts to resolve complaints and concerns in real-time
- Assume additional responsibilities, flexibility in scheduling to support the needs of the unit and team
- Assist in processing payroll
- Provide direct patient care, ADL’s, safety checks, 1:1 observation, group leadership, as needed to ensure patient needs are addressed.
Assistant Managers will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field preferred
- Previous psychiatric inpatient experience required; Child inpatient & Adolescent experience preferred
- Leadership in staff development and program development experience preferred
- Knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate the use of Electronic Medical Record.
