The Assistant Food Service Manger is responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager with the planning and daily operations of the department. Supervision is exercised over the Food Service Supervisors and all other food service employees in the department. This employee works to assure that all applicable guidelines are followed in providing quality food and nutrition services on a daily basis and the department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. This individual is responsible for the department in the absence of the manager.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Four years of related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.
Licenses & Certifications
*Driver's License
*Serve Safe Certification
Qualifications
*Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
*Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and visitors.
*Ability to write letters, summaries and reports in prescribed format.
*Must be familiar with county, state, and TJC regulations regarding food service.
*Must have at least 3 years of food service experience with 2 years supervisory experience.
*Training as Certified Dietary Manager or comparable program is desirable.
