Brookfield Academy, a private, independent, college preparatory day school, is seeking a part-time
Assistant Narnia Supervisor for the Primary School and Lower School. Position hours are Monday
through Friday, 3:00 PM-5:30 PM.
Philosophy
The Assistant Narnia Supervisor for the Primary School and Lower School at Brookfield Academy should ascribe to the Statement of School Philosophy and be comfortable with such Academy watchwords as the Five Stars and the Academy Triangle. He/She should recognize that the Academy is a private independent school for both practical and philosophical reasons, and that private education is seen here as an ideal, as well as a means to an end. There should be a belief in the value of substantive learning and in the school's academic mission, as well as concurrence with the broader philosophical stance identified in the Mission Statement.
Overall Objective
The Assistant Narnia Supervisor for the Primary School and Lower School is responsible for the supervision, instruction, and care of Level A – Level 5 students enrolled in the Narnia After-School Program. The Assistant Narnia Supervisor should be able to work in both the Primary School (Level A – Level 2) and Lower School (Levels 3-5) buildings and be able to assist after-school administration in both locations, as needed.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills are needed for the daily contact with students, parents, and faculty. The Assistant Narnia Supervisor enjoys working with children and should be able to create a positive learning environment, as well as maintain a high level of professionalism while assisting students. Strong organizational skills are a must for maintaining safety for all students and staff in the Narnia Program.

- Assist Lead Narnia Supervisor in maintaining individual student schedules, record after-school activities, arrival times, and departure times.
- Manage behavior of students in the Narnia Program and be able to maintain a safe and fun environment in which students can socialize, play games, and complete coursework as needed.
- Responsible for supervising both indoor and outdoor activities of students.
- Effectively communicate with parents regarding students in the Narnia Program.
- Assist in recordkeeping of students’ hours in the program for billing purposes.
- Oversee completion of student homework and answer questions as necessary (Level 2 and Levels 3-5).
- Work with Lead Narnia Supervisor and Director of After-School Programs to complete specific tasks as needed.
