NASC GLOBAL is conducting a confidential search for an esteemed client seeking an onsite Assistant Nurse Manager for the Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit. Our national client provides care to over 8 million members through a network of 30 medical centers and 400 medical offices nationwide.
This role is ideal for an experienced nursing leader who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative team environment. You will oversee a dedicated team, ensuring both clinical excellence and operational efficiency within a dynamic healthcare setting.
Compensation Package: $200,000 – $230,000 (Eligible for a 10% sign-on bonus and 7.5% annual bonuses), benefits such a Medical, Dental, Vision, etc.
Schedule: Varying shifts, including weekends (7 PM to 7 AM, Monday to Sunday)

Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day Operations: Manage clinical operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You'll oversee practice standards, staffing, payroll, budgets, and quality improvement initiatives, all aimed at maintaining the highest quality of patient care.
- Leadership & Staff Development: Lead a team of 20-60 employees, focusing on their development and performance. You will create and implement actionable plans to enhance staff capabilities and improve patient outcomes.
- Resource Management: Monitor personnel allocation based on patient needs, optimizing care delivery while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Risk & Quality Management: Supervise daily operations, including human resources, safety programs, and quality assurance, ensuring a high standard of patient care within the unit.
- Patient Care Coordination: Collaborate with external healthcare providers to ensure seamless and optimal patient care across the continuum. Address and resolve any patient or family concerns related to care.
- Best Practices Implementation: Research and adopt best practices from other units to continually improve patient care.
- Oversee the L&D, postpartum, and Level 2 NICU units.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience.
- At least 10 years in a leadership role (e.g., Charge Nurse, Preceptor, Quality Improvement Champion).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher is required.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of training as a Preceptor or Charge Nurse.
- Strong knowledge of the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements.
- Proven skills in quality improvement, clinical care delivery, staffing, and budgeting.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Preferred Skills: Experience or advanced degrees such as a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) are highly desirable.
