Assistant Warehouse Supervisor
We have an opportunity available to bring on a skilled and focused Assistant Supervisor to our team!
This position is open on a temporary basis, with an option to convert to a permanent full-time position, depending on performance. We continually search
for ways to optimize the performance and productivity of our distribution/fulfillment centers, and are looking for someone who has a proven track record of success in these areas.
We are looking for leaders who are active on the work floor, and able to ensure policies and procedures are followed and that new processes are implemented. You will be
collaborating and communicating with employees, management, vendors, and the Corporate office to meet company and department objectives.
A successful candidate for this role is highly experienced in production/warehouse management, comfortable dealing with change, and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements
every single day.
It is onsite in our Baltimore, MD Warehouse.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Serve as Assistant Supervisor on evening and weekend shifts
- Direct warehouse personnel to achieve prescribed objectives, including timely inbound inventory processed·
- Heads and oversees the warehouse Safety Committee, participates in implementing and managing safety-related processes
- Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are on target for the operation for safety, cost, quality, inventory accuracy, and capacity
- Work directly with department Leads to maintain workflow of production throughout the warehouse.
- Create a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees to provide feedback and drive change within the facility, adapt to the ever-changing business, and stay focused on the customer experience
- Drive continuous improvement to safety, cleanliness quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the warehouse
- Utilize the prescribed performance management process to drive performance excellence
- Facilitate and lead creating and sustaining a healthy, clean, and visual work environment to attract, train, and retain talent
Qualifications
- 3+ years management experience required in a warehouse-type environment
- Supporting effective Safety protocols
- Ability to operate in a “Customer First” environment
- Effective communicator/collaborator leading large teams in a multi-shift; high velocity environment.
- Experience in WMS, MHE systems, Time/attendance, and MS Office applications
- Inventory management experience with heavy sku environment
