Overview
TheĀ at Utah State University seeks candidates for a full-time, Assistant Professor position to support the teaching mission of the Master of Education program in School Counseling. This position will be focused on teaching and supervision within this graduate level program. Applicants with teaching experience in higher education and using different instruction modalities (online, face-to-face, asynchronous) are desired, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. The preferred candidate will have experiences of serving youth and children within a K-12 school setting.
The position is located on USU's main campus in Logan, Utah. This position is not eligible for remote work. This is a tenure-track, nine-month, academic year appointment.
This position start date is August 1, 2024. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities
* Teach graduate classes within areas of expertise and according to department needs. The typical teaching load is three courses per semester with supervision expectations; summer teaching as available and needed.
* Advise and mentor graduate students.
* Serve on school counseling graduate program committees and engage in program development activities.
* Support the department and university efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
* Support overall excellence throughout the school counseling program.
* Supervise practicum and internship students.
* Contribute service to the department, college, university, and profession.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Earned PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision or closely related field. ABD will be considered if a clear plan for completion exists.
* Potential of productivity and excellence in teaching and mentoring adult learners.
* Eligible for licensure within the State of Utah as a School Counselor (SC; ) and/or a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC; ).
* Commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and mentoring.
* History of positive working relationships with counseling professionals and faculty.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Expertise in teaching online synchronous, asynchronous, or face-to-face within higher education, or experience with managing technology-enhanced college teaching and electronic education (both synchronous and asynchronous modalities).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Meet requirements to serve as core faculty in a CACREP accredited program.
