WSP currently has an Assistant Project Manager career opportunity to support our remote Applied Solutions practice, which provides project management, construction management, and project controls support for environmental engineering and construction projects. This full-time position can be located anywhere in the United States.
The full-time Assistant Project Manager will work closely with a Project Manager to execute commercial and federal projects primarily focused on environmental, sustainable, and remediation efforts. This position will provide exposure to various delivery models, such as engineering-procurement-construction-management (EPCM), engineering-procurement-construction (EPC), design-build, and design-bid-build.

Your Impact
• Assisting project teams with submittals preparation and technical support to achieve as-sold requirements for scope, schedule, budget, and compliance with project safety and quality requirements.
• Assisting the project manager with maintaining up-to-date records, including correspondence, design direction, progress submittals, schedules, meeting documents, shop drawing review, test reports, as-built records, and other documents necessary to document engineering activities. Ensure all project documents are stored on the designated shared drive and not on personal computers. Understand and implement document management and storage procedures for each project, as per policy.
• Coordinating the preparation of required interim and final deliverables for projects.
• Assisting with client and internal project reports to ensure projects are on schedule, on budget, performed safely, and comply with quality requirements.
• Providing technical assistance such as interpreting specifications and applying technical standards to project-specific applications.
• Performing project related field tasks, attending key meetings, coordinating and overseeing subcontractors, providing project related field documentation, and performing a variety of technical activities from project start to completion.
• Performing periodic site visits to confirm progress conforming to project’s requirements.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
• 3 - 5 years of experience in construction or engineering.
• Undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, or related degree, or equivalent experience in a construction-related position.
• Experience working with a team to complete contract requirements, while ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are achieved.
• Experience with construction plans and specifications.
• Experience or a desire to learn about project financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
• Commitment to safety.
• Self motivated with excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
• Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
• Certifications preferred (PE, EIT, PMP, CCM, DBIA, etc.).
• Must pass background check
