Eversource is one of the nation’s leading supporters of customer-sited clean energy solutions and operates a range of programs that promote distributed renewable energy technologies. The Non-Residential Renewable Energy Solutions Program is Connecticut’s primary non-residential renewable energy incentive program. Operated by Eversource, this multi-year tariff-based program aims to increase deployment of non-residential solar PV and other Class I technologies across Eversource’s Connecticut territory.
The Associate Analyst will join Eversource’s Customer Renewables Group and will be responsible for assisting in all matters relative to the execution and administration of long-term renewable energy agreements under the NRES, SCEF, and LREC/ZREC Programs as well as new Eversource renewable initiatives that may develop in the future. Accountabilities include communicating with clean energy industry stakeholders, ensuring all necessary bids and applications are complete, establishing appropriate project accounting, development of reporting tools, and development of financial projections. Invoice processing, billing support, and information research and reporting will be required.
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.
Essential Functions:
- Work involving contract management including but not limited to assignments, documentation of project milestones, maintaining meter data and performing quarterly uploads to NEPOOL GIS, tracking contract compliance, and managing quarterly contract payments to ensure compliance with the Contract.
- Processing customer application requests for renewable projects
- Developing regulatory filings and seeking approval of contracts in a timely and accurate manner
- Collaboration with state agencies
- Collaboration with internal departments to establish and improve inter-departmental workflows.
- Development and issuance of Requests for Proposals (“RFPs”) and evaluation of resulting Bids/Applications
- Reviewing pending legislation and providing recommendations used to develop corporate positions.
- Supporting the Director and/or Manager, Renewable Programs in testimony and/or presentations to regulatory or other state agencies
- Development and maintenance of program work instructions, internal and external documents associated with various programs.
Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- General understanding of technology and requirements associated with renewable energy and renewable energy projects.
- Strong customer focus and customer service orientation, attention to detail, positive attitude, ability to multi-task, and passion for renewable energy
- Working knowledge of accounting, finance, program administration and contract management
- Ability to create ad hoc reports from databases as requested for internal and external parties.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure of tight, inflexible time constraints.
- Ability to recognize problems and discrepancies in information and take appropriate action.
- Ability to analyze data and information efficiently and accurately.
- Capable of both high-level strategic thinking and detailed execution
- Approaches work with a curiosity and critical thinking mindset to identify opportunities and risks before being asked.
- Ability to communicate effectively with legal staff regarding issues that require regulatory approval or that may result from or lead to litigation.
- Proficiency in database, internet, and MS Office applications; advanced-level skills in Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of an organization both internally and externally, including the ability to interpret and relate information in a user-friendly manner.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team as necessary.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and generate innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, environmental sciences, public policy, engineering, or the equivalent.
Experience:
- One (1) plus years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in procurement/contracting, customer service, and/or regulatory/policy is preferred.
- Experience in the electric utility or related industry preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $72,000 - $80,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
