About the Job
The Associate Analyst - Systems Analysis position is responsible for providing systems analysis for implementation and software development projects. The position will develop and manage requirements, create user stories/use cases, perform data analysis, and provide other support as necessary for stakeholders and projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply systems analysis techniques to identify and determine root cause of electronic file submission failures.
- Gather and research information related to regulatory translation sets and compare data structures with applicable standards.
- Interpret, translate, and communicate standards as it relates to business rules and provide a detailed explanation of how to resolve the data-related issue to a provider.
- Document and communicates critical issues to the leadership team.
- Track testing, status and results.
- Assist in the technical design and workflow of the testing process.
- Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
- Configure system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Program Specific Responsibilities:
- Translates business requirements and objectives into system level requirements for use by development and testing teams.
- Performs data analysis and documentation of system processes, and data flows.
- Communicates with stakeholders, clients, external vendors and software development team members to build dynamic solutions that meet the business needs of our various clients.
- Performs trouble shooting on production issues, infrastructure configurations and user related defects, that arise on a day-to-day basis to support the business.
- Acts as a resource for completing system configurations such as permissions, security, and rules.
- Work is generally limited in scope and typically on smaller, less complex projects or task-related assignments.
- Work is closely supervised and team oriented.
Minimum Requirements
- Entry Level position within field.
- Bachelor's degree and 0-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Works on problems of limited scope.
- Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
- Builds stable working relations internally.
- May have additional training or education in area of specialization.
- Solves routine problems of limited scope.
- Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts.
- Individual contributor representing the most common entry point for this career stream.
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with relational databases and data modelling concepts.
- Familiarity with Agile processes to decompose epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL and Excel.
- Familiarity with process modeling tools such as Visio and Lucid Chart.
- Familiarity with API, Java Messaging Services (JMS) and Decision Modeling Notation (DMN).
Preferred Certifications:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Solutions Architect or other relevant industry standard certifications aligned to the role of an Associate Analyst are considered a plus.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
