Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of municipal law matters.
- Serve as bond counsel, issuer's counsel, and provide expertise in public finance and tax-exempt finance.
- Conduct thorough legal research and provide comprehensive legal analysis on various legal issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Provide legal assistance to various departments and ensure legal compliance across the organization.
- Represent the organization in litigation matters, if necessary.
- Stay updated with the latest laws, regulations, and trends in the legal industry and ensure the organization's legal policies are updated accordingly.
- Provide training and guidance to junior attorneys and other legal staff.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Municipal Law Attorney, Bond Counsel, Issuer's Counsel, or a similar role.
- Prior experience in Public Finance, Tax-Exempt Finance, and Municipal Law is required.
- Expertise in Tax Credits, Legal Research, Legal Writing, Legal Documents, Legal Advice, Legal Assistance, and Legal Compliance.
- Exceptional research and writing skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong litigation skills and experience.
- Master of Laws (LLM) degree will be a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar.
