Position Summary
The Integrated Project Systems (IPS) Refining Systems Analyst will serve as the liaison between the Business owners and key stakeholders and the Information Technology (IT) technical support personnel facilitating enhancements and new capabilities from identification to development to testing to rollout. The position serves as a coordinator between multiple technical resources both internal and leveraging external resources as necessary while gaining knowledge of the business processes to identify opportunities to develop and deploy value-added solutions. Reporting capabilities and streamlining will be a major opportunity in this space. In addition to IPS, this role will also serve as an analyst for other applications in the Refining Asset Improvement product team. Ability to work in an agile team is needed to be successful.
This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assists in the definition of business processes in order to measure, analyze, improve and control the process being reviewed.
+ Works closely with the business and development teams to gain an understanding of business partners functional and non-functional requirements, provide feedback, and communicate changes.
+ Analyzes and documents business and user requirements, creating documentation of functional requirements specifications.
+ Applies understanding of systems and technologies to draft recommendations for appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.
+ Assists with the continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
+ Understands and assists in cost-benefit analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
+ Identifies opportunities for improvement and document knowledge for Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
+ Understands and executes the basic IT service management practices around incident, Change, Problem and Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) delivery methodologies including basic configuration tasks.
+ Assists in the analysis of test case development and execution in support of technology delivery.
+ Assists in the planning, conducting and documenting of user stories, user feedback, supporting development of prototypes and wireframes.
Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems preferred, related field or equivalent experience.
+ 0-2 years of relevant experience
