Job Description
- Responsible for survey readiness from external stakeholders for the department of psychiatry e.g. Joint Commission, CMS, OMH, OASAS, etc.
- Responsible for internal policy tracking, completion and distribution.
- Responsible for managing, identifying, monitoring, updating and distributing plans of corrections.
- Partner with Director Psychiatry/Quality to supervise/investigate events, including but not limited to Voice Reports and incidents requiring special review. Prepare reports of investigate results. Update IRC agendas and special review Stem reports as needed.
- Participate in IRC, special reviews and RCAs in the department of Psychiatry.
- Supervise and ensure timely entry into electronic databases e.g. NIMRS, internal quality share drives, NYS Justice Center database etc.
- Represent psychiatry/ quality in meetings/presentations in partnership with the Director Psychiatry/Quality.
- Serve as security manager for mental health provider data exchange (MHPD) providing access & amendment to OMH programs.
- Server as administrator for Health Commerce System (HCS) operated by the NYS Dept. of Health. Establish access to authorized staff.
- Perform other task delegated by the Director Psychiatry/Quality.
- Supervise and monitor time and attendance of direct reports.
- Prepare performance appraisals of direct reports
- Delegate task to direct reports, and subordinate quality staff as needed for task completion.
- Perform duties of the Director Psychiatry/Quality during periods of absence of when delegate by the Director Psychiatry/Quality to perform such duties.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Health Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,
2. Six years of full-time, paid experience of progressively responsible level in hospital administration with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or,
3. A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital or Health Administration, Health Care Planning, Public Health, Administrative Medicine, Business Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,
4. Five years of full-time, paid experience as indicated in (2); or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
